Bronze Level Poster
Hi guys! Hope you're all having a nice evening.
So I'll post up some of the main things I'm looking for here for my first ever desktop PC build. I've read through the forums and done a bit of general reading so hopefully I've covered the basics, but apologies if I've missed anything important! I've included an example spec of the sort of thing I'm looking for (I think) in the required format below; I haven't finalised anything at all yet though and I'd really, really appreciate some advice and feedback if there's anything at all you guys might like to comment on!
As a rough guide for what I'm looking for, basically I'm looking for a snappy, reliable gaming PC that can handle new games on high graphics settings, and also something I can do work on (some programming, word docs, etc., but no super intense video editing or anything like that). I don't really plan on doing any streaming in the near future, but it would be nice to have that option if possible (but no biggie if not).
My budget max is around 1800-1900ish EUR (1500-1600ish GBP) for the desktop itself, not including the monitor or anything else.
I'm investing in a 1440p 144Hz 27" monitor separately to go with it, and from reading the forums and having talked to some people it seems like the GeForce 3060 Ti would be the appropriate GPU to go with it? I'm not planning on getting any monitor bigger than 27" at any stage, and think I'll be happy with 1440p over 4K.
As for the CPU, from reading the forums it seems I should be probably be going for AMD over Intel? The AMD Ryzen 5600X was one of the ones suggested to me. As for RAM, I was suggested to go for 16-32 DDR4 RAM. I'd like to go up to 32 if possible, but I'm just not entirely sure if it's worth it?
For the mainboard a friend suggested the MSI B550 Tomahawk. I don't know much about these, and in the specs below it included one with ARGB. I'm not really interested in lighting features on anything on the PC or case at all, so I'd like to opt for the plainer and more understated aesthetic.
I put 850 W PSU just because I saw on another post that 850 W might be good if I ever wanted to add future upgrades.
Hopefully the cooling I've selected is OK as well? I don't know too much about this, or about whether I should overclock the CPU or not (I saw that was an option somewhere on the site).
A couple of extra questions as well if anyone is free to answer - is there anything on the site I would have to click to have the PC bluetooth enabled? + is a second graphics card worth it? +do you think I have enough USB slots? + do you think the 1TB NVMe SSD is worth it?
Thanks soooo much guys for the help if you have any opinion on any of these points, here's the example spec. I did on the site (not finalised):
