First PC Build - Gaming & Engineering

Hi all,

I'm looking to get a PC that will last me 5-10 years for 1080p (with potential for 1440p if it's possible to upgrade certain parts further down the line) for less than £1000. I would like it to be able to run a AAA open-world games (e.g. newer Assassin's Creed titles) and FPS (Warzone) at 1080p with at least 60fps constantly (if this isn't possible given my budget, apologies).

Additionally, I'm an engineer and use software like Solidworks, Ansys Mechanical & Fluent for 3D modelling and simulation so would like to know how this would handle these software.

For my monitor, I've found two that seem good for my budget of £250-350 but again if you feel there are kind better options out there, I'll definitely consider them.

Let me know what you think of this build and if any of the parts are unnecessary and/or overly-expensive given my requirements. Or if I should consider upgrading a part. Because I'm so new to this, I'm finding it hard to tell the difference between all the motherboards and their respective pros/cons so if the one I've picked isn't up to much let me know why please.

For your budget forget about 1440p, stick with 1080p for now. Best monitors for that are AOC 24G2U or Asus VG259.

This means no bigger than 25inch monitor. I've quickly put stuff together, but highly recommending to do a bit of an online research and see what are the system requirements for each of you software you're going to use and games you'll play so you could have a better understanding where to go (up or down) with each part.

I quickly looked and seems that better to have 32gb ram but you can still get away with 16gb and upgrade later.

Storage: I think you'll need a much faster and bigger storage.

M.2 putting up to 500gb as 256gb is really low. SSDs shouldn't be used more than 75-80% full so you have even less from this 256gb. Not worth as in 500gb you have have OS and some software.

Just Assassin's Creed on 1080p with 1060 will do 30fps only on high settings and for 60fps you need 1080, so 1660 Super will do something better than 30fps.

You really need to do your homework and save some more money or lower your expectations.

I'm sticking here mostly to 1080p and trying to get better fps here.
