Hi guys this would be my first build, my budget is approx 1800 inc. VAT. Anything about the build would change/recommend?

I haven't decided on a monitor but something better than 1920x1080p? Any recommendations for monitors would be greatly appreciated. I'd be using it for mainly gaming and university work on the side, hope that helps?

A couple of things that I'd change that don't rely on answers to the above:

  1. Change the wi-fi card for the AX200
  2. Scrap bullguard, you only need windows defender
  3. spend a fiver on the silver warranty

With that kind of budget you'd want to look at the Samsung G5 1440p 144hz.

If you chuck us the link for the build we can make some tweeks

This will be a monster at 1440p 144hz for gaming and general work. You could quite happily take the 3060ti instead if you wanted and will still perform great at 1440p.

I've upped the PSU as well to support the 3070 and any future upgrades

The 5600x is the better option for your needs :)

3070 is the better GPU and will max out most high end games.

But the 3060ti is more than capable and still get you great performance in most high end games and won't struggle with any other games.

Depends what kind of games you play and whenever or not you think the price difference is worth the performance

Ok, that looks good, but i would drop to the 3060 Ti and add a 1TB PCS M.2 in there for installing games on

COD and warzone would be fine because most don't tend to play them on max settings anyway as performance is more important and they're not the prettiest games anyway.

Games like Flight Sim (because its a monster) and Cyberpunk (more due to its programming) you won't be able to max out and maintain a high framerate. But then they still look fantastic on slightly lower settings.

Still either one you buy it will be the first part of the PC to upgrade down the line so lifespan of them won't be too different.

I don't play warzone, but I've a 2070 super which isn't quite as powerfull as the 3060 TI and quite happily get 120fps playing halo
