Is anyone else playing this? I've always loved my driving games and I find this absolutely stunning. The realism and the rain effects are just sublime.

Additionally, are driving games a little less taxing on GPUs? I'm guessing they are as my 1080 is barely hitting 65% while holding 75fps on Gsync without any dramas at all. Everything is on ultra and it looks beautiful. Just wondering if it was a trait of the style of game or whether it was more to do with the modern coding (DX12 etc).

Anyway, it's a free download from the gaming centre and it's absolutely fantastic.

I've done a quick video showcasing the driving view that I'll post up later. In hindsight I should have chosen a few different views but I enjoyed the drive too much.

Laptop: Model - Aspire 5755G,
Guessing you mean your other laptop ;) (you should add that to your sig btw)

If your laptop has a GTX 1080 and it's capped at 75 FPS at 1080p, that does sound kind of normal for a reasonably-but-not-super-demanding game. If you think that something like GTA V ran at 120fps at 1080p on a 1080: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1080/17.html So I'm not sure it necessarily has much to do with DX12.

It's all completely alien to me to be honest. Never in my life have I had so much graphical processing power. In comparison though, I'm running a 2004 version of FSX with the GPU showing 99% load at times. M$ really did make an infinitely scale-able game with others contributing addons etc.... but it's definitely not the best coded (DX9) for modern hardware.

I think I'll unlock the VSync and see how it runs.

Oh and yeah, sig needs a bit of an update :D

I've tried both Apex and Forza Horizon 3 on my son's new rig (Define X1 + Dell S2716DG).
Indeed, Apex looks stunning in ultra settings at 1440p, and I played better than my experience with Forza Motorsport 6 on Xbox One.
Horizon 3 is just as pretty, but bugs prevent me from ever finishing a race on Windows 10, so I'm sticking with the XB1 for that.

If you have the XBox One Elite controller, connect it to your Windows 10 with the cable, and it's like you're playing an XBox on steroids.
