Free DVD maker software.

Does anyone know of a good free program?
I have an old version of Photo DVD Maker Professional I used on XP,but it wont work properly on Windows 7.
It's just to make a slide show with audio added,it's only a one off for a friend so don't really want to buy the upgrade of what I have.
Is this any good?

Thank's dogbot,I know about Windows movie maker and DVD maker but they haven't really got all the features and flexibility I want.
I'll probably give it a try though if I can't find anything else.

Movie makers probably got the best features for free, you will have to pay if you want some proper editing features

Yeah looks like it,tried a couple of free ones but pretty poor quality.

What about a free trial of a paid software? I think all Adobe products have a 30 day trial
