Fusion Pro performance drop when plugged in

Hello everyone

I've bought a Fusion Pro laptop a year ago and it worked fine until this last month or so.

Now when I use it on battery it works all fine, no overheating and no FPS drops when I'm playing videogames (Valorant, if that matters),
but as soon as I plug it in, while I'm expecting an increase in performance both outside and inside the game, I only noticea decrease in performance.

In particular, it becomes really hot (like if I place my finger on the chassis right under where the display connects with the rest of the laptop, I can't touch it for more than 3 secs then it hurts... the software ControlCenterU says it is at 77-79°C), the fans start spinning like crazy and make a lot of noise (which is not a big problem for me though) and it becomes slower, the movement of the mouse or the scrolling of a page isn't fluid anymore, if I'm typing the letters get shown after a sec and inside the videogame I have bad FPS drops (I used to run the same game on this laptop at more than 120 FPS steady until a couple of months ago, now if it's plugged in I have like 60 FPS for a couple of secs and then it starts dropping to 10 FPS or less, without any other program open in the background).

I would really appreciate if you can help me solve or tell me how to get assistance from the producers, please.

I leave below the specs of my laptop.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi there,

The first thing I would do to get a handle on everything is install 3DMark and run Firestrike. Get the results at the end and pop in the link so that we can go and take a look.

My guess is that something is overheating somewhere, either the CPU or the GPU. When unplugged, the CPU/GPU has far less power to work with and thus will generate far less heat. You will be used to a level of performance with the battery and it definitely should be surpassed by the power plugged in.

What's slightly confusing, though, is that while the heating up would explain the eventual degradation of performance and experience.... there should at least be a honeymoon period of perfect performance until that happens.

If that's not the case, it would suggest a power issue. Have you overclocked the system?
