Future-proofed laptop for office tasks/home usage

Hello,

I have devised this spec and would love some feedback. It will essentially be used to operate word/powerpoint/chrome simultaneously, watch Netflix and the usual web surfing. I know the specs are probably a little bit overkill for these purposes, but we wanted a laptop that would last for a long time and work really well, rather than buying a piece-of-shit (which we have right now).
I've chosen to install Windows myself - have a bit of knowledge about computers generally and it seems like it is doable and worthwhile for the price reduction.
I know there will be some maintenance with the custom built pc - but is it so onerous that it should be avoided unless you have a very strong knowledge of what you're doing?

Not frequently, but would like the option to be able to do that. From the spec list it does seem to have an IPS screen anyway even if its on the smaller size (prefer this for portability)

Fair enough. In my experience portability is as much about the weight as the diagonal dimension. For content consumption and day to day work I'd not go personally below 15 inches but rather find a decent 15 or 17 inch machine that's nice and thin and light.

The 256 Gb disk is not very big either. I presume you will make extensive use of cloud storage and store very little locally?

Yes I have a Synology NAS set up so that will hopefully reduce any significant memory issues. Smaller disk was just a way of saving money. Will consider the bigger screen. Did have a look at the options available and the 15" seems a little bit heavier, though with the obvious benefit of being bigger and having more battery capacity. Something to consider anyway before pulling the trigger. Appreciate the feedback a lot! Anything else worth some critique I am happy to hear it!
