I would also appreciate what you guys think, and if I should change anything?

Also I have a few questions, what is the difference between the i7- 3770 and the 3770k ?

secondly the case I have chosen can have 4 fans fitted to the side, if I ask pcs to do this will they acquire them and fit them (for a price) ?

If you where wondering this will be used for is gaming (just recently got into BF3) and video and photo editing via Photoshop and various video editing programs.

Thanks all.

Sorry missed that :)
the i7 k version allows you to overclock
fitting additional fans that you sent to them would be free of charge

I think that case comes only with 2 fans, any additional fans must be purchased by you (not sure if they can provide them but if they do they will be standard). I would suggest a slight change to your spec, the motherboard would allow you to SLI (add a 2nd GPU in the future to improve performance) as well as the PSU. The triple copper heatpipe CPU cooler is a good choice if you are not overclocking.

what is the difference between the i7- 3770 and the 3770k ?
The CPU's with a k after the name are unlocked for easier overclocking, that's pretty much the difference, so if you're never planning on overclocking just go for the i7-3770.

If you are not going to be overclocking the Triple Copper Heatpipe cooling will do perfectly fine, if you are going to be OC'ing then leave the cooler as it is, noting that OC'ing is not generally required for gaming (with the exception of a few very heavy CPU usage games where it does apparently help)

If you where wondering this will be used for is gaming (just recently got into BF3) and video and photo editing via Photoshop and various video editing programs.
The spec looks pretty good for all your specified uses :)
I presuming you're not planning on SLI'ing later, in which case you could get away with a slightly lesser PSU if you wanted.

Edit: apparently I type too slow, there were no responses when I started ...

Cheers Ruben It looks good. I was thinking of that motherboard too as the wifi could be useful. and about the cooler I wasn't sure if the cheaper option would be sufficient compared to the titan evo, but if you guys say its decent then I guess I may as-well go with that.

I wont be overclocking as I do not know how to, so there is no point in me messing around to try lol. and I think I will go with the triple copper heatpipe then. Thanks guys. Now ill see if i can get 4 of them fans with the orange LED's from the manufactures website.

I'd recommend this fans:

however no orange led fans. You could also try "kustompc" for orange led fans.

If you are doing a lot of video editing and the programmes you run a very CPU demanding then I'd go for the i7 3820, you can overclock the 3820 for even better performance but that would involve an upgrade on the cpu cooler as well.

That CPU uses more power but uses double channel memory so if you want more than 32 gig its
The way to go.
But it's no faster than the 3770 and is 32 nano die.

Morning Grinder :)
I don't do any video editing, would you say there a significant difference in performance in video editing between the i7 3770 and the i7 3820? would it depend on the programme?

To be honest video editing wont be its first purpose, I just do some in my spare time. which one would you recommend for general performance? for all round gaming and browsing etc. just want one that so when i do intensive editing that the power is there ( which doesn't happen very often).

and now its more of a hobby at the minute, so just don't know when i'm going to get back into it full time.

Between the 3820 and 3770, there isn't a huge amount tbh. The 3820 does o/c better though, but this may not be necessary. Of what I know, apparently the 3770k performs better in gaming situations and the 3820 performs better in number crunching situations...i.e. video editing. I'd go with the superior socket which is the 2011 socket. The die size doesn't matter, the whole of the lump of silicon in the 3820 is dedicated to CPU, only like 2/3 of the silicon lump of the 3770 is dedicated to CPU I think, the rest is integrated graphics, which isn't even going to be used in this situation!

It makes use of quad channel memory, so, you can use it with 4 sticks of RAM, you don't need over 32GB for it to start making use of the RAM.

Then, it probably doesn't really matter which of the two you get!

For gaming and just occassional video editing go for the i5 3550, you could go with the i5-3570k + a good cpu cooler to overclock it (video editing purposes) but the i5-3550 would do the job for gaming.

What happens if i decide to go back into it full time, would the 3550 be enough? or is it just safer to go for either the 3770 or 3820? i don't mind spending extra for future proofing so to speak.

I don't think the difference between the 3770 and 3820 would be great or worth the additional ££. You could stick to the i7-3770 to futureproof yourself.
