Gaming desktop + screen £2500 budget

Hi there. I seek advice regarding gaming desktop build. Please have a look at my creation below. Unfortunately laptop I've purchased from PC Specialist 4 or 5 years ago just broke down. Local repairman said it's motherboard and it would cost me about £200 to replace it ( rough estimates). I've always been a laptop user but the time has come when I decided to get a proper desktop.

This is going to be primarily gaming PC which I hope would be able to handle new games on ultra ( ideally) or high settings. My budget is about £2500 and I hope that would be enough to cover desktop, screen, keyboard, mouse and speakers so any advice regarding those would also be appreciated. If I could get all the right pieces for less than my budget that would be awesome but I understand that might be difficult to achieve so it's more like a bonus objective.

Secondly, I know that PC prices are really high nowadays. Is this a good time to buy, or better to wait for discounts, few months down the line?

Thanks in advance for all the replies.

The Samsung G5 is currently £280 on Amazon, which is a bargain for a 1440p 144Hz monitor.

And that would leave you with a shade under £225 to play with for the extras. Of which you have LOTS of options. If you want a highly rated mouse you could pick up the Razer DeathAdder V2 Mini for just over £30. For a great keyboard you need look no further than the Corsair K70 at £109, it’s owned and loved by many a forum member. And that leaves you with £85 for a set of speakers, possibly with change left over for a half decent headset. I’m not the most knowledgeable about speakers as I’ve always got my headphones on, I imagine someone else will have a good recommendation or two for you 🙂👍

K70 down to £109, that's a great price. Think I paid around £140 during Prime Day. Using it right now though, it's an awesome keyboard. I was on laptop for a long time and it's been an easy transition to the larger mechanical keys.

Build looks awesome, as you would expect from Coop. I would recommend trying to amend to the 115i Elite Capellix once it comes back into stock, as it gives you an updated design, a built in Commander, and even more RGB loveliness.

Hi, just a quick one - GPU I'm interested in is out of stock at the moment ( 3070).

I could stretch my budget and get 3070 ti instead, question is - is it worth it? Few reviews of this GPU mention slightly better performance but also susceptibility to overheating which concerns me a bit.

Is 3070 ti worth getting or shall I wait for 3070? Is there any other alternative GPUs worth getting?

What's your opinions about this card ( 3070 ti) ?

Your other option is see if you can pick up a 3070 elsewhere, order the pc from pcs without a GPU and fit it yourself, as, as @AgentCooper said the slight performance increase isn't worth the extra money, unlike a few weeks back when there was about a £7 difference

Thanks guys. I think I'll just downgrade GPU to 3060 ti for the time being and wait few years till market gets back to normal and upgrade GPU once necessary.

I want to frame this!

Many years it's taken for there to be such a sensible reply to the GPU dilemma!

I have a 3060Ti just for reference and I think it's great. I've been playing most games with the graphics maxed out and not had any issues at 1440p.

By messing with the settings I and dropping to high/ultra I've been able to get 144+ FPS in pretty much any game I've wanted at that framerate at 1440p

Hi, does upgrading second SSD ( 1 TB Intel 670p) to something beefier make sense in my build?
