Hey troops! It's been a while since I last posted on here but I hope you're all well and had a fantastic Christmas.

This is one for those of you that game but feel free to chip in with any thoughts or opinions even if you're not a gamer.
Boxing Day sales and I find myself looking at gaming headsets but not knowing what to go for so I thought I'd ask you lovely folk this question..

Which headset do you use and would you recommend it?

It's a great question.

I've been through a number of headsets in the last 5 years on a search to find the ultimate set I could fall sleep with and didn't break them.

I tried various wires headsets, Logitech G35 Wired in 2016 were by far the best sound quality with luscious bass, but generally poorer build design with plastics which would often crack or split.

I tried the ultra expensive Astro A50 Wired headset with the mixamp, true 7.1 surround with individual drivers in the cups, very nice sound quality, but the cable deteriorated between the cable and the join to the headset, non modular so meant replacing, wouldn't recommend

But after years of searching, the ones I settled for were actually the cheapest of all the models I tried. I've been using them daily now for a couple of years and been extremely happy. Battery life is around 24 hours I'd say, have to recharge every 3 or so nights. But battery peak charge hasn't deteriorated in the time I've had them and you can swap out the battery pack as well if you need to.

The Steel Series Arctis 7's were very good value at around £90 for the basic model or £110 for the Pro's (both on sale atm) incredible sound quality, even with simulated surround, and wireless so no cables to deteriorate, plus metal headband and cup arms.

Hey Spyder!

That's very, very helpful. I was looking at the Steel Series and they're definitely on my list. I was hoping to get a pair that I would be able to use for my Xbox as well so I was looking at the Nova 9x. I know there's Pro for Xbox but they're somewhere around the £300 mark. At the moment I have a pair of Razer Kraken and they've done me a good turn but I was very curious to see what else was out there that's got good reviews and is compatible with both PC and Xbox.

I also considered the A50's but I just wasn't sure. There was something niggling at me telling me not to go for those.

I'm using the Massdrop Sennheiser 58x - Jubilee Edition, beautiful headset and really decent for it's price - only issue you will need to import it from America.

Although, if you just want a gaming headset then I'd recommend the PC37X or PC38X - Just watch out for pricing on such as Amazon, you can get them for around the £120 mark.

Use the Corsair HS70 Pro's and I love them

Before that had Corsair Vengeance 1500's and loved them as well

Happy to stick with them for the future they produce great sound for gaming and offer 7.1 surround. Very full sound with good bass, I find a lot of headsets to be super "tinny" and hollow sounding so I like these a lot and can happily recommend
