Gaming Headsets

Hi all,

I have a Creative X-Fi Titanium (non-hd version) soundcard in my PC. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me, if possible?
Are there any headsets that can find a happy medium between good music playback and a good gaming experience? I would like to utilise the X-Fi for sound processing so are there any non-USB driven headsets you could recommend?

Would it be better (separate purchase of course) to have a set of phones dedicated for music playback, and one dedicated for gaming? I'm aware that the X-Fi doesn't have a built in headphone amp, so being able to drive large voltage headphones through this particular soundcard would be rather pointless and not render much volume.

I'm probably the worst type of consumer (or the mug for the corporations) who cares about the gaming experience, but also a big audiophile when playing back music. =\

Any experienced wise-heads? :D

I have the rog Vulcan, can't hear my wife when I put them on :) so I can recommend them. It probably depends on what your budget is.

have a look at what Tritton has to offer, - http://www.trittonusa.com/prod/pchead.asp

I have tritton ax pro's I also had the same soundcard as you (until i changed it) , the two didnt pair very well at all. So I'd avoid a digital headset with that soundcard and stick to analogue. Perhaps this one - http://www.trittonusa.com/prod/pc510.asp
