Gaming Laptop Advice please!

Hi, both myself and a friend are thinking of getting gaming laptops, I'd like to keep it to under £1000 if possible but I'd also like it to be decent!

Couple of questions - what is worth changing with this spec? And also is there due to be new components released soon so it would be better waiting a couple of months before buying? It's been a while since I purchased any hardware so I'm a bit out of the loop what to get!

i've been out of it for a while mate, but I'd get the better thermal paste as it will help keep the temps down. Also don't forget the extra warranty for a fiver.

Also worth mentioning that nVidia are due to be releasing their next gen gaming cards in the next few months, they should be demo'd sometime in april i believe with a due date being announced then.

They're called Pascal, and by all current accounts, they're going to be a game changer with 4k gaming being native, obviously serious improvements for VR, the hype is that they'll be 10 times as powerful as the current 900 series cards!

So it's that eternal question, hold off, or buy now. Personally, I'd hold off if you can especially with a laptop purchase. PC, not so important as it's easy to upgrade.

I've posted an alternative build with a 970m and defiance chassis (better), just over budget but may be worth pushing to. It's in moderation though at the moment.

Get the 14" defiance in the review section for £999. Good chassis, i7, 970m, 16gb ram and a 240Gb SSD. Bargain and in budget. Just don't configure it or you lose the hefty discount.
