First I would like to apologize for wall of text. I like to know what I'm buying before I will buy it . I tried to educate myself on the subject, but I still have a lot of questions. I understand that you might not have answer to all my questions. I will contact PCS with whatever remains.

I want to buy PC purely for gaming which will last for 3+ years. I'm not doing any video editing, streaming etc. My budget is 2500£ for pc and 500£ for monitor. I can spend 100-200£ more if difference in performance will be worth it, but I need to draw some line so that's it.

Case
COOLERMASTER MASTERCASE H500M - my ideal case especially now when price dropped 30£.
1. My main concern are air filters. On reviews people saying that behind front panel mesh there is a smaller mesh or something, which is air filter or suppose to work as one, but is it a proper air filter?. There is one under PSU but what about roof panel? Is it the same as front panel?
2. Case come with Addressable RGB Fans & Controller. Is it possible to connect all RGB hardware to work as one using this controller or it's just for fans?

CORSAIR OBSIDIAN SERIES™ 500D SE - my other choice but a bit less preferable than H500M

Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor i7-9700K (3.6GHz) 12MB Cache - I did consider AMD Ryzen 7 2700X but looks like for gaming intel i7 is better so I dropped the idea. I'm getting more and more confused when comes to choose between 9700k and 8700k. I'm not gonna pretend I know what I'm talking about but reviews for 9700k are very bad. Apparently difference in performance is minimal but because 9700k have only 8 threads CPU usage and temperatures are higher than 8700k with 12 threads. 9700k have 8 cores vs 6 in 8700k but no game is using 8 cores?

I'm thinking about overclocking but I don't know. 8700k OC gives me +20fps, +10-20% on GPU load and +10°C on CPU temp. Can't find any good info about 9700k stock vs OC but I will assume it's similar to 8700k. Is it a good idea to OC 9700k considering already higher temperatures on CPU?

What about I7-7820X OC. Is it better than 8700k and 9700k?

Motherboard
Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Master: ATX, LG1151, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs - RGB Ready - after some research I choose this one as it comes with WI-FI which I will need and overall it's best from Z390 available. My only question is about WI-FI : "Intel® CNVi 802.11ac 2x2 Wave 2 Wi-Fi". I have no idea what does it mean. I have 200Mbps/25Mb internet connection. On the website : https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10#kf says that speed is up to 1.73Gbps so I presume is OK. There is also a picture of antenna? do I need one to use WI-FI or it's going to work like with laptops?

Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) - is there a big difference in performance between 3200MHz and 3000MHz ? I thinking about RGB ones.

Processor Cooling
Corsair H100x Hydro Cooler w/ PCS Liquid Series Ultra Quiet Fans - after reading other topics I think this one will do? What about if I choose OC 8700k or OC 9700k? will it still be ok?

LED Lighting
2x 50cm RGB LED Strip - are they gonna be installed and connected by PCS or I will receive them separately and I will have to do it myself?

Extra Case Fans

After watching some videos about positive and negative air flow I gave up on idea having 3 RGB fans on the roof. Still it seems like best fan configuration for cooling is to have 2/3 front for intake and 1 rear + 1 rear roof for exhaust. When I'm trying to proceed with CM H500M case and 1 extra fan I get this : "Please note that the radiator from the Corsair Hydro H100x cooler will occupy 2 x 120mm internal fan slots on the roof of your case". I gave up on 3 fans on the roof to prevent negative air flow but instead I'm getting 2 anyway? I'm not really sure what to think here.

Monitor

Didn't do much research on monitors yet but Dell S2716DG 27 Inch or ASUS 27" ROG Swift PG278QR looks good. I'm looking for 27 Inch, 144Hz/165Hz, 1ms Response Time, Nvidia G-Sync monitor for around 500£. Any suggestions?

Thank you very much :)

What about I7-7820X OC. Is it better than 8700k and 9700k?
No. Especially not for gaming.

These sound like random numbers taken out of context. For instance, most demanding modern games at 1440p resolution (assuming high settings) will not see a 20fps gain from overclocking the CPU, especially when paired with a GPU around RTX 2080 level.

My suggestion would be to buy a system pre-overclocked from PC Specialist, as this gives you an OC covered by the warranty for about £10 and saves you the effort. You can always experiment with OCing down the line, but you don't need an OCed CPU for 1440p gaming. or even 1080p gaming tbh.

You're getting into a twist over 8700k and 9700k. If you're spending around £400 on a CPU, £30 savings for a slightly slower CPU is a bit silly. Disregard the 8700k.

The real question is whether it's worth spending £200+ more for an Intel CPU over an AMD one.

At 1440p, the performance difference between a 9700k and an AMD r7 2700x is so slim that you are unlikely to notice. If the R7 2700x is a lot cheaper and saves you money / lets you buy a better GPU, the AMD CPU would be a better choice frankly.

This is the kind of performance difference we're talking here:
relative-performance-games-2560-1440.png witcher-3-2560-1440.png hellblade-2560-1440.png
That's what you're paying ~£200+ for with an i7 9700k. A few frames at 1440p, if that, a few % difference.

Whereas an RTX 2080 ti is 'only' £300 more than an RTX 2080 and will deliver ~20-30% more FPS...

LED Lighting
2x 50cm RGB LED Strip - are they gonna be installed and connected by PCS or I will receive them separately and I will have to do it myself?
PCS do that.

Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) - is there a big difference in performance between 3200MHz and 3000MHz ? I thinking about RGB ones.
There is not much difference at all in most titles.

Don't buy extra fans. Stick with the stock case fans, and the fans that ship with the H100x CPU cooler.

You can always replace any fans of your choice in the future with RGB ones yourself if you decide to customise the visuals more. But you might as well get the system in your hands and see what it looks like before spending loads of money on more RGB fans.

Those are both good options. The Dell is less expensive than the Asus and has been very popular with forum members here.

Processor Cooling
Corsair H100x Hydro Cooler w/ PCS Liquid Series Ultra Quiet Fans - after reading other topics I think this one will do? What about if I choose OC 8700k or OC 9700k? will it still be ok?
Yes

Onto the spec itself:

Warranty3 Year Platinum Warranty (3 Year Collect & Return, 3 Year Parts, 3 Year labour)
Note that many parts come with their own warranties from the manufacturer anyway. Personally I would be unlikely to buy this where it's ~£150 I could invest into the hardware instead.

Motherboard
Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Master: ATX, LG1151, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs - RGB Ready
This is extremely expensive. What do you need from it that another motherboard like the AORUS Pro does not offer?

If it's basically just for the wifi, get the AC1200 wifi card for £22 instead of getting a crazy expensive mobo.

Going for an AMD Ryzen build, which I'd recommend at current Intel pricing:

Thank you very much Oussebon for answering my question and your suggestion. I'm going to re-think everything again. I have heard that there is a lot of problems with 2080 ti cards... like BSOD issues etc. What does "Pre-Order Only" mean in this case ? Waiting time 1-2 months ?

I doubt 1-2 months. Phone PCS and ask :)

The reports of problems with GTX 2080 ti cards are exaggerated /amplified by a number of factors. Have a look at: https://youtu.be/SsICqQYwgAE?t=324 In short, manufacturers aren't seeing above average RMAs with the cards. That doesn't necessarily mean anything because the cards are new - but that's true of any new graphics card range ever released. Problems with them as a new launch are much more likely to be picked up on by social media and the internet because of the price tag. If you spent £1000 on a GPU and there's a whiff of a problem, you're going to be pretty cross, and if you are spending £1000 on a GPU you're an enthusiast and will be more engaged with the tech community, more likely to post online, etc.

GamersNexus have more videos on the subject. One of the issues they seem to have already pinpointed to being a problem with certain monitors in one of their other videos, which to me sounds like a driver issue. GN go on to say nvidia are releasing a driver update to address that (possibly the one that came out 8th Nov, not sure).

Besides which, that's what the warranty's for.

Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSYUuR6c5fY Driver update is indeed clearing up at least some of the issues

Hi, I have few more questions :)

1.In which configuration CPU cooler fans are working or should be working ? push or pull ?

2.I will ask PCS if this is even possible but if yes than my questions are :

CORSAIR OBSIDIAN SERIES™ 500D SE case comes with 3 x Front 120mm RGB LL Fans. There is none on the back which means I need to buy at least 1 more. I'm thinking about buying 3x Corsair LL120 RGB LED Fan + Controller Kit (57£) and replacing Corsair H100x CPU Cooler 120mm fans with Corsair LL120 RGB LED Fans + 1 on the rear. This would give me total of 6x LL120 RGB LED Fans - 3 front, 1 rear and 2 cooler fans on the roof …. but :

Corsair H100x CPU Cooler 120mm fans run between 600RPM to 1,700RPM ( that's what says in PCS description ). Corsair LL120 RGB LED Fans runs 600 RPM to 1,300 RPM ( corsair website and amazon description ). If I would replaced regular fans for RGB ones in H100x cooler they would run up to 1.300 RPM or 1.700RPM?? If up to 1.300 RPM than is 400 RPM difference a lot in CPU cooler?

Hi Shine,

I have the same case, fans, processor and cooler on my PC. I ordered an extra fan, for exhaust like you are considering. My experience is that the extra fan was total overkill - I have synced the RGB lights to the CPU temp but almost nothing I can do to it will make it heat up! The cooler fans are almost silent because they rarely have to spin even close to their top speed (the CPU generates little heat and they are extremely good at removing it). I would recommend just taking the three fans the case comes with and then looking at adding more if you ever think it is needed. Frankly, the case is large - with plenty of room, three dedicated fans and the CPU dealt with separately by the cooler you already have plenty of cooling.

Hi polycrac,

I'm not after extra fan cooling. I saw pictures of your pc and you have 3 rbg fans in front, 1 regular fan on the back and 2 fans from CPU cooler on the roof. I would like to have same configuration but rear fan and CPU cooler fans - RGB … something like that:

https://youtu.be/J-FqFJwyDWg?t=426 - guy in this video have "CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i v2 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler" and he changed fans for RGB ones.

I'm thinking about same thing if PSC would do it ( I don't have enough confidence and knowledge to do it myself ).. with H100x cooler....but there is a difference in fans RPM ( up to 1.700 RPM in stock fans and up to 1.300 in RGB fans ) and I don't know if 400RPM is a lot. :D

Ah, yes - I'm with you now. No idea about changing the cooler fans though, might be best to give them a bell. They seem to be quite accommodating where they can be.

Hi Shine, Corsair does do an AIO cooler with RGB fans, I've put the link below. Two points though, first off you should check with PCSpecialist as to whether you can upgrade the cooler to the H100i RGB Platinum model and the second point is I think it uses the ML fans, rather than the newer LL fans, not that I'm entirely sure it makes all that much difference, but it maybe of note if you're planning on adding extra fans & trying to match them altogether.

Gonna stick with Intel this time. Never had AMD before and just don't feel like having one now.

2080ti and 10-25 more fps for extra £300 is not worth it in my opinion.

Don't really need HDD so I took M.2 250gb for OS and 1GB SSD for games. Watched a lot of videos and looks like M.2 is only 1-3s faster than SSD when comes to games loading speed.

Warranty - with my luck something will always fail, brake or whatever, so just for peace of mind.

lol, versus the ~£200 extra for Intel and 1-2fps...

More like £100-160. I saw only 2-3 games where difference in fps was 1-5fps between I7 9700k and Ryzen 7 2700x on 1440p. Everything else have +10-20fps for Intel.

Changed my mind again...I will buy 2080ti.;P

I understand going for Intel, but at 1440p or above (at > 60Hz) you'll be GPU bound in 99% of games so the Ryzen makes more sense. Saying all that I would have gone for an 8700k lol.
