Buget of about 1000 euro, this is slighlty over, anything better for the buget? Any change I could/ should do? last PC was 2012, ( below) only upgrade was a 1TB wd second drive! (which will swap to the new PC)
For gaming but especially for Elite Horizons/ Odyssey which my old PC is no longer capble of.
If I have to push the buget then I just have to wait but specs would be good.

Many thanks
Gary

Hi, thanks for your impute, can I ask why, I am trying to work it all out! there are so many different options!!!
Would it be upgradable?
If I waited 6 months and increased to £1500 would I get a more worth while PC? ( daft question really but I hope you understand my drift!)

GIGABYTE B550 GAMING X V2 : DDR4, USB 3.2 - ARGB Ready, is this better? even though your not a big fan?

8GB AMD RADEON™ RX 6600 - HDMI, DP - DX® 12, again why please?

1TB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (3300 MB/R, 2900 MB/W , faster, but would I need 1TB if I'm swopping in a 1TB hard drive?

NO OPERATING SYSTEM REQUIRED, need win 11, win 7 is too out of date and will running the old PC for other tasks

Certainly an extra 50% to the budget would make a massive difference to the value of the PC and you could get a much more solid system.

The motherboard is better, not amazing. Gigabyte's boards in general are a pain for debugging when things go wrong, which is something I'd hate. But it'll work.

The 6600 is a far better graphics card than the 3050. Indeed, it's better than the 3060 too, while also being cheap. It's very good value; the 3050 is not.

You say this is a gaming PC: very few people would choose to game off a hard drive these days. By all means fit it, but I wouldn't want to use it to game off. SSDs, especially M.2 ones, are the way to go these days.

And yes, sounds like you will indeed need a new Windows licence.

Monitor is a LG, Flatron, W2486L, I might need to replace that, but get the cash elswhere for that!!!
