Hi all

Apologies for the second post but I've had to scale back on my original spec. How does the build below look? A pure gaming unit - no other use for it at all. Is the case ok? Do I really need SSD?

I would certainly drop the liquid cooler for the tripple copper. It's only really needed for overclocking. And with the £40 you save I would upgrade the case to CM HAF 922. To save a little more you could change the 2nd HDD to a Caviar Green, which is quieter and uses less power, ideal for a storage drive.

I bought an almost identical spec to this. Same case, cpu, graphics card, ram and hdds. I went for the ASUS® P8Z68-V rather than the pro version, the dvd rewriter rather than the bluray drive and the triple copper cooler. I also went with the 1050w psu on the basis that the configurator says it would be needed if i decided to sli with another 580 in due course.
On the case front i like the dragon rider - it has good cooling and the fans are included. It has plenty of space. I guess it is a matter of personal taste whether you like the way it looks.

On the ssd question i would say it is not needed - i originally thought about going for one but opted for the 2 caviar blacks for a good compromise between speed and capacity on the one hand and price on the other. I am certainly happy with what i ordered. I figured in due course when the price of ssd come down i can upgrade.

I don't know if your able to still or not but i personally do recommend the Mod psu over the normal non mod psu. helps free up space an clutter in the case which will lead to nicer airflow in the case.
