Genesis IV: Component Upgrade?

Hello forums!

After retiring my PC recently, my laptop has become my only computer, and 1366*768 only takes you so far.
So I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade the monitor, the "Spare Parts" page lists:
"Replacement FHD 15.6" Glossy screen (1920 x 1080) for 15.6" Genesis IV"
as an option.
Would it be possible for me to just buy one of these bad boys and mount it?
If so, how hard is it to mount it? Built plenty of computers in the past, just never screwed on a laptop! :)

Also the keyboard, something that's becoming increasingly annoying the more I use it, is that I keep
pressing Numpad0 instead of right-arrow, and Numpad1 instead of Up-Arrow. While programming this is extremely annoying
and I can't seem to get used to the keyboard..

Is it possible to exchange the keyboard for one with a different layout (perhaps without
numpad) ? I realise there's no such option in the spare parts, so this is more of a third-party thing I guess, if it's even possible?

Thanks

Simon

I feel you. If you find some info about replacement keyboards, link it here I'm interresed! Ergonomics on laptop keyboards are non-existant. Also one thing I really don't like are flat laptop keys, I look at my screen and then I type, and on the flat keys I can't feel where my hands are. I am absolutely not used to looking at the keyboard and my writing speed decreases if i have to look at what key i need to hit.

Hit the nail on the head with that one, my issue exactly. In addition to the arrow keys "blending" into the numpad, of course. :/

Thanks, I thought I was the only one thinking like this. I might aswell post my feedback I never sent to Pcspecialist here.

The most perfect keyboards are the old Lenovo keyboards, but they had issues aswell.

The extra keys around the arrows should be "nokeys"/"space"/"plastic". So as OP describes he should be able to feel where his hands are.
The F-keys have space between them both horizontally and minimal vertical. (+)
The FN key. This key is a plague. This key along with windows key and the "preference keys" should be removed and not included on the keyboard.
If you look closely it's close to impossible to use the fn Key with one hand. You almost always need two hands, So you could put it where the blue thinkpad key is along with windows key. Without losing any functionality. The empty space should just be, empty space.
The touchpad, should have it's mouse keys above the touchpad not below, or both as shown in this picture. When you tried the lenovo keyboard you will understand. Imagine holding your left thumb on left mouseclick and the right thumb on the touchpad, you can with minimal effort continue to type would you need to. instead of moving your whole hand from the bottom of the laptop to the middle.
Also Numpad is useless because you need to move your hands in order to access it. Along with consuming space. And also it blends out the "edge" of the keyboard usually.
Flat keys. I challenge you to put on a blindfold put your hand on a flat keyboard and try to instantly type. You need to have concave keys in order to type properly.

Conclusion, hand movement is bad, and it is "unlaptoplike".

I'm planning the same thing, but the screens are "out of stock". I'm looking for information where is the screen connector in Genesis IV... anyone (left/right)?

P.S. Replacing screen is easy - I did it even with a non-replaceable screen  Check youtube for videos.
