edit: you could save quite a lot of money by going for a smaller SSD, I hardly keep any stuff on my SSD only programmes I use a lot, just no need for it.

Thanks so much for the quick response. I'll take your word on the MB/CPU combo and the GPU - to be honest, it becomes, for me at least, so confusing researching the endless possibilities...:turned:

I take your point on the SSD (although I tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to capacity - hence the 550W power unit; I'd rather spend an extra tenner than find out I can't add on something or other later because of power issues).

Can I ask why you chose that particular case? Is it particularly good? It's just that, how can I put this, it's a little 'loud' for me (and I'm not talking about fan noise....)

Thanks again. It's much appreciated.

The spec I suggested will be a good all rounder and will be very good at gaming. It's a lot more balanced than your original post, for example you chose a motherboard which is SLI ready (you could add a second graphics card) however the PSU wouldn't have been able to handle it. I do agree with you that the 500w is probably a safer option though.
If you can afford it then by all means get the higher capacity SSD however I would say that I have 23.4gb left on my 111gb SSD and I accidentally installed BF3 on it (which is 34.2gb) and couldn't be bothered to move it.
I chose the case because it has decent air flow and room for components, I wouldn't go any cheaper, I know exactly what you mean about it looking loud. Maybe the Corsair 300r (£65) is a more suitable?
