Getting the most out of your GFX card.

Hey guys, I have been an avid gamer ever since I built my first tower years back, though being mostly self taught I figure some in depth adivce was well overdue I have just purchased a new gaming laptop from PCS with a 7970m, 8GB of hyper kingston 1600mhz DDR3 memory and i7 Ivy 2.7ghz on it. I would really love some peoples thoughts or adivce on how to get the most out of your graphics settings, obviously this is dependant on the machine you have and also the game you are running but general hints, tips and advice would be legendary!

Keep your drivers up to date?

Seriously when you're talking so generally there isnt really much to do, keep your system clean without loads of bloatware running in the background and make sure your drivers are up-to-date so you have all the latest profiles for games. Anything less general than that is pretty specific to each game.
