To quote Pengipete :

That's so immature!

What you should be doing is poking your other half in the ribs every five minutes and saying "where 'puter?" in a really whiny baby-voice.

You also need to print off a picture of your 'puter to take to bed - you need something to stare at when you can't get to sleep. If you poke some holes in the right places in that picture, you can hold a torch behind it and pretend to switch it on and off. Better still, if you go "beep - woosh - bing-bong, bing-bong" whilst staring at the picture, you can pretend to be booting into Windows and with nothing more than a small packet of sausages and some Scrabble letters spread out on a tea-tray, you can make a very convincing mouse and keyboard to practice on.

I did all of those thing and they made the man I am today

And my personal favourite : Troll the PCS forums solidly in the wait, learn loooads about computers, realize how awesome the members of this forum are and give advice to other buyers :D

Incidentally, does anyone know what the chances would be of getting it before this long haul of dreaded bank holidays hit us?

My laptop is currently in pre-production at the moment.

The waiting truly is the worst part. At the moment I know mine is sitting in a dhl depot, it was despatched yesterday so should be delivered monday. On the one hand status updates are great and show how things are progressing on the other they are a big tease as you hope each stage will pass quickly.

On the plus side once it goes to building things seem to progress pretty quickly.

In building :D

however they have let me know that apparently the I7 is out of stock. If it arrives early tomorrow i still may get it sent out in time....

I cant take the pressure :p

Still tho many cookies to the PCS support staff for keeping me so well informed along the way :D

Again very true :p

I have the feeling PCS are going to own my soul by the end of the year. I allready want to upgrade the graphics card >.<

I dont suppose you happen to know how easy the laptops are to upgrade do you? Or if i send it back to pcs, can i pay for them to do it for me?

The later I would susspect. Which GFX did you go for, the 460?
It'll cost a fair bit to change now, but can be done I suspect :) Might need a few more 12 hours shifts to cover the cost - I'd guess £400 ish.

Hmmm, not sure then on the cost. From my limited understanding, the CPU and GFX are the core modules that can't really be changed....

Well, they can, but not cost effectively.
