Hi guys, going a bit off topic from computers here (not too far)
Basically im now 17 nearing 18, currently doing a Level 2 NVQ in business and admin work which is office based
I've always been one for computers and feel like I haven't wasted a year as such, but could of done a course I would of better preffered
I was at that stage where I left school and needed to do something so I applied for everything, but a year later I have found a course as a "IT Application Specialist"

Looking for a bit of an outsider's opinion.
Should I finish my Level 2 then do something different that I'd prefer, or do a Level 3 in business admin and forever do office work which is frankly quite boring

Thanks :p

Personally I would defo finish your level 2, not worth quitting now.

But if you want to move into computing then do so, I mean "computers are the future" lol.

And youll find that loads of computing jobs merge with business a fair bit so you'd look good to a employee.

Oh yeah I was always going to finish my current one, but yeah I suppose its always handy I have an office NVQ anyway :) I'd just like to be more involved with actual computing not inputting data onto a spreadsheet 24/7 :)

Well at least you know where you want to go, at your age I had no idea.

I'd advise finishing your level 2, then swap to the other course if it's more in keeping with your ideal job type. Getting as broad a skill base as possible is always attractive to employers, but remember your not even 18 yet. Most of the people I know from school who went on to further education don't use it in their current jobs. My sister did 4 years of criminal justice and is now a truck driver. Your qualifications will open doors, maybe just not the ones you think they will though.

I dont have much of an idea.. Just something to do with computing. I can't see myself doing anything else BUT computers haha
and yeah that is true, the last place I wanted to be in was a office and as soon as I left school I ended up in one:wacko:

EDIT: My age group was required to stay on an extra year of further education by law, so I had to do an extra year, I have no interest in going to university
