First off what games are you looking at playing? It really isn't the best to compare a desktop to a laptop, but what we could do is see if the laptop would be able to play the games you want okay

Thanks for the link! Good info there!

Some of the games I own... S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CoP, GTA 4, Arma 2, CS: Source.
And upcoming/current games I'd like to play... Battlefield 3, L.A. Noire, Metro 2033.

My current PC runs the games I own at medium/high settings, 800x600 at 15-30fps. CS:Source maxed out and native resolution 40fps.

:winkiss:As MickyG has already mentioned, you'll not get a similar gaming spec on a laptop for even remotely the same £ as a desktop.

CPU, GPU etc look OK. (CPU turbos up to 2.9GHz)

I would personally go with GTX 560M instead of GT 555M - but not sure if you can get if on that chassis.

GT 555M is just out so you might be able to find something slightly older which will do a similar job.

Without a rough budget it's hard to be of much help. Sorry.

RAM will be sufficient to play pretty much anything at the moment.

Thanks so far... I have tried configuring the 15.6" Vortex II (which can have the GTX 460) but it's out of my budget. With the same specs and the GTX 460 it's £1051 and my budget is around £800.

Any other suggestions to the spec?

Quick question, do you really need the mobility of a laptop? because if you don't, you'd be better off with a pc as you'll be getting a better system for your money.

Well, we have a PC in our house already. And as I'm going to Uni next year, I want a laptop :)

Are you going to take that laptop with you everyday to Uni to use, or is it mostly going to be at home? and did you mean that you'd be going into uni accommodations or staying home and going uni?
