For a start get an i7 it will perform much better than the AMDs also instead of 2x6970 get a 590, you can then add a second one later (or now) and you will have four cores, you could also get a better case such as the sniper or haf-x which shuld fit into your budget. Bearing in mind that etting one 590 is probably cheaper you could get a small SSD OS drive for fast loading of OS and a few games. Also no real need for the sabertooth board

If you are planning to upgrade but need a few weeks/months to save up for it. The next offering from AMD shouldnt be too long untill it shows it face. You could wait it out for that or if you plan to buy in the next couple of weeks before AMD release their new chip get an intel CPU atleast the i5, probably an i7 would suit you best.

Having 2 high end cards almost requires a small power station on your door step. One card is sufficient at the moment, i would go with a single GTX 580 for now and add in a 2nd at a later date IF you need to. Or again if you plan to wait their is a new batch of card from nvidia coming out, posssibly not till next year tho. But their is a slim chance of release this year as far as i know.

I specced up an intel system like the previous one ^^ but with intel and the changes you suggested and it came out nearly a £1000 over budget, lol. So I changed the case back to the first option and got rid of the 2nd 590 card and it went down to £1,810. So i figured, if I carry on saving for a bit longer I can afford to buy the system at that price, and then once I get it, save up again for a while and buy thre second GPU in the future, and some extra fans if needed, what you think about that?

Changes made;

Overclocked CPU
Overclocked Intel® Core™i7-2600k Quad Core (3.40GHz @ max 4.80GHz)
Motherboard
ASUS® P8Z68-V: USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, NVIDIA®SLI™, ATI®CrossFireX
Graphics Card
3GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 590 - 2 DVI,mHDMI - 3D Vision Ready
Memory - 1st Hard Disk
120GB INTEL® 320 SERIES SSD, SATA 3 Gb/s (upto 270MB/sR | 130MB/sW)

Saw your comment after i posted mine :| Given what you said, i think i will wait, give me chance to save some more money :) So you think the AMD chips that'll be released will be better than the Intel ones out atm?

Yes buy a second card later when many others will have been released dropping the price of the one you have, before you do this though, try poceeding with 2x590s because you may need a bigger PSU which PCS do not supply, you may be able to send a 1500w one in if you can affod that

i tried proceeding with the 2x590's and the Corsair 1200W Pro Series PSU and it seemed successful becaused no little message came up saggesting a change.

Nownput on the smallest PSU to find out what the wattage says, it will say the max watage is ___w we recommend you upgrade to a 1200w PSU

If its really close it may be better getting a much larger one, then you will still be able to upgrade RAM, HDDs, fans etc

I lowered the PSU and proceeded and it said (with only 1 GTX 590 remember) that it only needed a 750W PSU.

EDIT; Max wattage with only 1 GPU is 683W. Max wattage with 2 GPU's is 1121W

No no no leave on two 590s then lower the psu, then click proceed and i will say how much it requires exactly, i have a feeling it may be at like 1180w which is too close really although can be done

Max wattage of system with 2 GTX 590's is 1121W... Should i stick with the corsair 1200W or send in a higher wattage one when i eventually order?

1200w should be ok then, but you will be restricted on making upgrades, RAM and HDDs should be ok, if you do add a second drive laer, make it a caviar green thy use less power

how much do you think it would cost to send in a power supply in for PCS to fit? Given i do want to eventually upgrade it.
