After a lot of research and reviews, this is the laptop that I've decided to purchase for a grand total of £1,280 except the selected GPU is currently out-of-stock. So, in the meanwhile, what do you guys think? I plan to use this laptop for general academic work, leisure, intensive gaming, high-quality streaming and video editing. I recently posted a thread comparing this laptop to the Octane II so click here if you're interested in seeing the results, otherwise click here to check out my Twitch channel!

I went for a similar build to yours with the only differences being the processor(basic version) and the ssd(I chose a hyperx from kingston doubled by a 7200rpm hdd). After doing some research it seems like a balanced system which should last for a few years. Can't wait for the gpu to be back in stock :)
The only thing that I might reconsider is swaping the kingston ssd for the new samsung951. I would end up paying about £60 more. Do any of you think is worth it? My intended use is light gaming and some usual work stuff(nothing to demanding). Some might say even this is overkill for that but I don't mind paying the extra for premium performance in a relatively small chassis.

Great minds think alike! The only way SSDs or HDDs can affect gaming is possibly when you're trying to load huge Battlefield: Hardline maps, you don't need to pay extra for them unless you're after larger hard disk memory. But, either way, these specs are pretty much overkill. An i5 Mobile Processor with a GTX 960M and 4GB RAM would probably still be more than enough for our gaming preferences.

I would still go for the advanced processor though because, whilst everything else is upgradeable, I hear the processor cannot be changed out on this laptop. But, anyway, is it just me or has the laptop's price reduced a little? With the same specs, I'm now looking at a grand total of £1,277 which is £3 cheaper than before.
