So, as you guys work with PCs etc. I thought that you would have an idea of when the GPUs will have their price drop. I preferably want to know when the GTX 480 drops lol. But if you don't know it doesn't matter. :)

Ironically, they do change daily, sometimes they go up, sometimes they come down, these are governed by the prices we can get them in at the time, for instance, because of popular demand and nobody having them in stock the GTX460s have gone UP - its impossible to tell when things will change :( - do remember 2 people paying over 600 quid for a 5970 though when they first came out :O

Adding to Paul's explaination, all stock imported into the UK is bought in $$, so the exchange rate also have a massive impact on prices of components on a day to day, week to week basis. In terms of a relatively large drop in price, this normally doesn't happen until a replacement model is launched or the model is discontinued and distributors/retailers want to get rid of stock.

Come now, Britain hasnt manufactured anything more complicated than a toothpick in 50 years.

I just assumed.

No wonder you guys find it hard to be specific as to when more stock with arrive, understandable if its coming from over yonder. :)

Most if not all components are manufactured in the far east, who only accept USD as currency, so this is how it affects the price.

Nothing is made in America either :p

Far east is Taiwan / China etc. Middle east being southwestern Asia and Egypt.

We also buy a lot of components from UK distributors as well who have stock in the UK, theyre just unreliable! :p
