Hi,

Thanks for the advice so far on my "allrounder laptop" thread. It is much appreciated. There seem to be only a few people who have stuck around after receiving and acting on advice, so I promise when I do eventually order I will come back and keep you posted with what I decided and how I get on with the new machine. People offering advice deserve to at least know the outcome in my view! I am a Destination Expert on Tripadvisor, and I have noticed that it is common for people to post, receive lots of advice, but never report back - I will try and not read and run I promise!

Hi qwerty and welcome. I can't believe that name was still available, great choice.

A report back is always welcome, not just for the satisfaction of those who have helped but also for others who have similar problems or who are thinking of getting the same PC/laptop. That way the fora become an information resource for everyone and not just a helpdesk.

I was also surprised qwerty was available! Normally one of the first names to go on a tech forum! Thanks for the welcome - I will do my best to give feedback for all you guys and for future seekers of £700 or less, multi-purpose, 15.6" laptops.
