GTX 570 or GTX 580

I'm torn between which card to get. I will be playing games at 1920 x 1080 and play various types of games ranging in graphic intensity. I have done a bit of reading around and it's 50/50 on what I should do. Some say the 570 is more than enough for 1920 x 1080 gaming whilst others say the 580 is hugely better.

I need someone who can give a pretty impartial view on this...

Cheers

580 is better hands down, how much better well a fair bit, it's like getting a ford focus and then getting a ford focus st170. Yer a focus is ok but a st170 is better and faster.
I will be honest I would get the 580 if for any reason it would be the future proofing aspect, at least you no it will last a little longer.

Thanks for the reply. A lot of the information I could find was a few months old now so things have probably changed since then already.

Basicly if you can afford it then get the best you can afford, especially with graphics cards as they go out of date the quickest.

I'll bite the bullet and go for it. What is the difference between the EVGA, PNY, Palit etc. The prices range massively. My hardware knowledge isn't all that but I can only assume some have higher clock speeds? What card do PCS use?

You won't regret it,
Not 100% sure as I am an ATI man myself and for those I think they use power colour, you will get a decent make but your best bet is to phone up and ask and you can probably order what ever make you want.

Yeah as Bad Santa has already said you will have to phone up when you order to find out what stock they have in as this can change at anytime but the GTX580's have been palit recently.

All three of those companys are great GPU builders. You know, the brand doesn't really matter, unless they are OC versions.
