Are you wanting advice? There are a few things we will need to know first if you do (and a few things you can add to your initial post to help out :))

Have a read of this thread here as it contains a lot of good info:

I have heard rumours of PCIe5 being released, but i think we are still a year off and they are almost certain to be outrageously expensive. Gen 4 (980, firecuda etc) should be more than enough realistically.

As and when PCIe5 comes out, it will be a while before enthusiast-grade SSDs are available. I expect it will be server-focused to start with, especially as Intel haven't even shipped PCIe4 yet.

And, in any case, your motherboard will only support gen 4.

i was looking at 980s yesterday is there any reason why the 970 is more expensive on amazon than the 980 was curious? thanks for the input though

Ahh I see I wouldn't of known that the motherboard wouldn't of supported it thanks :D

980 is on sale at the moment. I picked up a 500GB for £100 or so, they are normally more

would a 1TB or 2TB M.2 be overkill with the other ssd and HDD this pc will have?
You would want your OS on it, so would need to do a windows reinstall etc. Personally i’d say it is worth it, but it all comes down to you. If you can financially budget it and want it... go for it, if not... the difference won’t be dramatic enough, to have to make deep lifestyle changes for a few weeks etc

Do you have a link to the build so we could lot at it as a whole? Also knowing your budget, monitor and use case would be great

In fact... i’ve just noticed your cooler... you really really really need to get a better one

A cpu like that, will not be adequately cooled by a 120mm radiator AIO, i have a Ryzen 7 with a 360mm rad

really?? i heard good things about it

at the moment the pc is costing me around £2000 i can go higher by a few hundred
Okay, now, what's the PC going to be used for and what monitor(s) will it be connected to? (either make and model or resolution AND refresh rate pls)

Please answer BOTH questions in the reply as it'll save a lot of time. Looking at some of the choices, it might also just be easier if we do a new build then you make the changes based off of what we recommend.

Thanks
