HDD and SSD

Hey guys,

I have 2 questions regarding my storage.

a) Is it possible to completely restore my HDD to blank? I have so much crap on there I just want to get rid of it all and start fresh, I know about like system restore etc but what is the best way?

b) If I was to buy a new, bigger HDD and shove that in my system instead of the one now, would that have the effect of a completely new PC (in a sense) with no programs or files?

I know these are rookie questions but you have to start somewhere right?

Cheers all.

a) You can format the HDD. You could do that when doing a clean installation of windows.
b) Are you planning to install the OS in the new HDD?

You could disconect your existing hard drive and plug the new one. In your welcome booklet there are step by step instructions on how to do a clean installation of Windows 7.
