My razer carcharias has died after 2 and a half years of faithful service. (moment of silence)

Obviously I need to get a new headset.

From a magazine I had read, they recommended the http://uk.store.creative.com/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-tactic3d-omega-wireless/1-20714.aspx

From several online comparison websites and top #10s. They recommend the http://www.astrogaming.co.uk/headsets/a40-headsets/a40-headset-astro-edition

I have also seen several promising things said about the http://steelseries.com/products/audio/steelseries-siberia-v2

There is a broad enough price range there, I know a bit about them, but I also read several different things about each of them. This forum has proven very helpful in the past few weeks and I was wondering if you could help me with this too. :)

I found it very comfortable, nice sound out of it. I thought it had good noise reduction and a cool automute feature where you lift the mic to mute it. Lots of cool features with macro buttons on the side for stopping or playing music while doing something else.

Its expensive though like £150, i think.

Do you have a sound card?

Are you wanting a digital headset or analogue?

Are you wanting a headset that can make use of Dolby digital 5.1?

No budget as such, but I dont want to spend a stupid amount of money if it isnt worth the performance, and I like good value.

I choose the standard 5.1 soundcard on pcs desktops

Digital or Analogue

I would prefer surround sound, yes.

also I would really prefer a wireless headset.

Whats the battery like and is it easy to charge and play at the same time?

the asus dg? if so you would want a analogue gaming headset. Can still be 5.1 though:)

The Logitech G930 is wireless and the battery life is really good. But I couldnt say how many hours. You get a stand with the headset and you place it on that to charge. Yes you can also charge and play with ease.

this sound card. from pc specialist. what it is exactly, I am not sure.

Ive never had that problem but I knew of it. Yes most wireless stuff uses 2.4 but again never had any problems like that with it.
