Hello just need a little help deciding on a PC for a friend. I will be donating a graphics card and copy of windows to him, my old GTX 970 so not including that there's a £700 budget. It will mainly be for playing stuff like Age of Empires 2, Company of Heroes, Warhammer total war 2. Apart from games he just does general internet browsing, he doesn't do much downloading or hoarding of files like me.

I decided this would do but perhaps I'm missing something, as my knowledge is lacking in some areas. Would this suffice?

You definitely want to go AMD, far better value and performance at present

. I’ve gone a little bit over budget but it’s this build will give them the space to upgrade in future years and given them a much better case.

Bit of a health warning on Warhammer total war 2, it is CPU heavy mainly in campaign, turn times etc.

Then for actual battles it get GPU heavy.

If it means waiting a month or so to save a bit of cash, it would a month or two well invested.

£700 - £800 are really very budget rigs and need to carefully thought about as upgrade paths can be limited or non existent.

Things like having a 750w psu above are important to allow an upgrade path.

Thanks for the replies, appreciate it. AMD to save some cash on the processor sounds like a good shout thank you.

I don't think he'll upgrade it to be honest, we tend to stick to the old school games.

Will a ASUS® PRIME B450-PLUS motherboard over a ASUS® PRIME B550-PLUS?

The main reason for the B550 would be it gives them the option to upgrade the cpu down the line. :)
