Hi i need help in choosing a laptop

Hi I want to buy a sub £300 laptop for basic computing and i dont know whether to get the Gemini iv 14.1 inch laptop for £224 or the Ultranote vi s for £289. I don't want to upgrade any features and want to install a m.2 ssd myself later. Which one should I buy and I want to save money.

I would t buy a custom laptop personally at that budget, they’re not designed not to up the specs. I’d suggest getting an off the shelf.

Im on my chromebook most of the time. I already have ps4, switch etc for gaming i just want a web browsing laptop, stadia, n64 snes emulators and minecraft laptop. i want the gemini laptop for the aluminium build and backlit keyboard but the otherone has wifi 6. do you think the gemini laptop would be a good purchase for me.

also what does off the shelf mean?

As I said, a custom laptop is not going to be suitable for your purposes, something from PCWorld or somewhere would be far better.

i already had one from the store but will the gemini laptop function well just for basic web browsing and low end emulators. because i prefer it than say the cheap windows 10s laptops with 1 year office that sell for the same price. will it be too slow or does it function.

can you elaborate as why the laptop wont be good enough compared to a say asus celeron laptop? thanks.

You wouldn't be able to order them as they are, they won't work with the basic configuration. You'd need at least 8Gb RAM for starters.

They're designed really for schoolkids.

They don't even have modern CPU's, they're Pentiums which are extreme low power.

You'd get far more for the money from an off the shelf.
