I'm not sure about video encoding but for gaming I change one or two things:

- I'd change the RAM to 1600 MHz
- Upgrade the HDD to a Caviar Black (not for gaming just general use)

Other than that it looks good ;)

Thanks
Andreas

It is better but as far as I know it doesn't make any difference for gaming (obviously it's also cheaper), however, I'm not sure about video encoding.

Andreas

P.S What is your budget?

Thanks both, on the quote I'm looking at there's no price difference between 1600 and 2400.

Budget is £1000-£1350

Again, thanks for the replies!

A touch over budget but it includes a better case which would be beneficial, and I've dropped your second HDD to a 1TB to make it a Caviar Black. You could always add another later down the line.

Thanks, could I ask what the benefit of that case is? Literally the cooling properties? Thanks for the link very helpful, one of the reason for the 2TB drive is I have a lot of video on 2 x 2TB drives at the moment (live and backup) so was looking to move the live disc to "in machine" Also blu-ray drive is a must!

High end gaming machine - Budget £1400, must have Blu-ray

Hi All,

Any improvements I can make to this spec? Looking for high end gaming machine but not necessarily concerned about running everything at max. Want room to expand hard drives in the future and possible SLI and PCI sound card, any thoughts? Worth adding the two extra case fans?

Thanks

Jay

If you wish to SLI you need to upgrade your PSU,I would suggest an 850w PSU. For a sound card you may want to consider a PCI-E connection not to interfere with the cooling fans of the 2nd GTX 770.
