I need this to be a fast computer and handle medium level multitasking.
I also NEED, it to handle new games at high spec! Any input would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance!

(also a speedy reply wouldn't go a miss as I need to order within the next week at the latest, thanks again! )

It will manage multitasking fine but for gaming at high spec, not very likely. I wouldnt recommend anything below a gtx550ti or hd6770 for gaming.

Hey thanks for a speedy reply, but that would be over budget :( !

Yeah problem is you just can't get high end specs especially for gaming on a budget so low and that GPU is not really a gaming one to start with as Teaz said the 550Ti is more the place to start but that is more a med/high GPU, i have a 550Ti in my old rig and it's pretty good for a cheaper card but even on the original F.E.A.R game that is about 5 years old with everything at max on 1680x1050 it was only managing about 19-28 FPS.

Indeed it would. you can still game with it at low settings which isnt pretty bad now adays with decent fps depending on the game. You can always upgrade the graphics card at a later date when you get the funds to. You just swap out the current.

If you do, you may likely need to upgrade the psu to a bigger psu to support teh graphics card power draw which should be a simple thing to do.

Hi, a couple of problems personally with that. First of all from what I can tell on nvidia's website the 550 ti does not have the appropriate connections that I would need, second I wouldn't need to have it play on really high settings but mid-High with decent fps. What would you guys think about that? Also another thing... My brother has a pretty decent computer and I asked what graphics card he has ( him being typical him, didn't give the most helpful of answers) but says that overall my card is better specification wise but his is better overall, now this might seem "by the way" but the main point in saying that was that, he can play games like crysis 2 on extreme settings and have a reasonable fps, but he says mine is better specification wise, but still wouldn't be able to play?? Thanks again guys! (also feedback from another persons point of view is also welcomed and rep will go to all and any helpful comments)

I would try and save some more cash. For a decent gaming rig you need at least £750 and for gaming at high-max settings on modern games you are looking at £1000+.

This is a spec you should be going for if you can save a bit more cash. It has an excellent price to FPS ratio. :)

I would personally go for Nvidia, even at this price point.
