I’d probably look at swapping the samsung ssd with a pcs one and the 2tb ssd with a 2tb hdd. Swap the 2060 with the 3060ti and really, if you’re going to stream, you probably want at least the Ryzen 7.

can your budget stretch a little bit? Also, what monitor do you use and what type of gaming?

If doing home cinema, have you got a decent surround sound system?

look at Dolby Atmos capabilities and speaker setups for full immersion.

I just notice in fact, i put the wrong motherboard, you’d be better off changing it to the B550 instead.

How deep are your pockets.

it’s even more of a shopping list getting a good setup than it is getting a PC or even a TV lol.

ah its more just finding something that i can install and dont have to mess with for a few years ill treat it as a separate purchase when i get the cash together if this is something youre into you might be able to help me actually my father has hearing issues and copes with a wireless headphone connected to the tv but he cant hear conversations going on around him when doing that would you know anything that could help? im essentially looking for the opposite of noise cancellation :p

ill add that in thanks for all your help ill be bold and ask for your help explaining something to me that i find trouble finding answers for. What is more important finding a cpu with more cores of a previous gen or less cores but (presumably) faster ones of the current gen? or is it all to do with how much multitasking i intend on doing? (straight up 75% of my information comes from linus videos and he do be messing about with top tier stuff i wont see any benifit from so it does be hard to know yaknow?)

I would always go for next gen. The cores you need depend on what you need them for. For just gaming a Ryzen 5 5600x is superior to the Ryzen 9 3900x, but if you were to edit videos etc or stream whilst gaming etc, the more cores are better suited to the multitasking and the intensity of commands your cpu needs to deal with.

cheers for that that makes sense i wont be doing much intense stuff anyway needing more cores but very very last thing if i wanted to upgrade in years to come are the sockets suspected to remain the same? and even if not and ive to get a new motherboard which isnt terrible expensive i imagine the rest of my gear will be good to go yeah? id hate to be buying stuff on the verge of being obselite (im aware that computing is relativly unpredictible but just a general idea since you eem to be more into this that i am)

The guys on here that regularly sort specs for folk are specing a system to last 7-10 years with just a couple of GPU upgrades in that time

nice one now that i can deal with B) it always rotted me to pay for a whole new system every few years and also get a new computer to keep up with wear and tear and do streaming on demand for stuff that doesnt have playstation apps like on demand sites (currently rocking a ps4 pro and.... a lenovo ideapad with some parts missing :p)

Motherboards isn’t my strong point, so someone else will have to give you more of a breakdown but... AMD motherboards are designed to last longer than Intel ones. The 570 is better than 550 but is more expensive. However both should last the lifetime of the build.

well i suppose youre right then eat a few more tins of beans in the coming weeks and save me upgrading again and losing money in the long run if this is what ill be using daily

Motherboards and psu’s are probably the things you want to futureproof the most.

my current pc needs a new psu, as it was built for the specs it had (450w psu), if i had got a 750 or 850w to start with, it would have saved me in the long run.

yeah that i figured thats why i jammed the big boi into my original idea gives more scope fir future add ons (or RGB i i wanted to get intense with it :p)

If you want to spend a little bit extra, to have peace of mind regarding futureproofing, i have made a few little tweaks.
