So which spec is better? Yours or Liamnic2's? Im rubbish at this kinda thing, hence why i use the forum! lol

i prefer liamnic's although i would drop to an i5 as there is no benefit to i7 during gaming and perhaps u may then be able to get the gtx 570

I'd go with adnangulaid's suggestion, the i5-2500 will be perfectly fine, you only really need 4GB of RAM and its a better graphics card, and the extra power in the PSU gives a bit more room for upgrades :)

yes thinking about it id probably go with adnangulaid's but i personally recommend 8GB RAM, especially as i found a program that allows you to store files on RAM for quick opening, so i will probably be doing this with some of the startup files hopefully

Both of the specs liamnic2 and adnangulaid are good but for gaming you will be far better off with the 1 adnan has put together as you want a gaming rig you would not notice any difference between the i5 and i7 but you will get a better gaming experience from a better GPU which has been increased to the GTX570, the only thing i would change on adnan's spec is drop the wireless card if your too far away from the router then invest in a set of homeplugs.

yeh this argument has been spread all over the forums, personal preference i guess, and i want to be able to safely leave multiple programs up and yet still game on max settings

Okay, so i think we all agree that adnan's specc suggestion is better, thanks guys (and girls?)!

Well, we can agree to disagree on that then, cos I don't think 8GB is needed for gaming :)

I am with Rakk there 4GB is more than enough for gaming, you will find quite a few threads on here with arguments over 4GB and 8GB but i can't remember 1 game suggested by the "you need 8GB ram for games" people where they can say that there whole system including the game is using even 3GB or over most games will use for the whole system between 1.5GB - 2.75GB

im not bothered with 8GB tbh, its just ashame there isnt a 4GB/2GB total 6GB option, that would be ideal although i know what im gonna do with the extra RAM :) and ill also be running a small server for minecraft and apparently more RAM is good for servers

4gb should be enough for gaming but if you feel you need more you can easily upgrade it. RAM is simple to upgrade, you just phone PCS and order some more ram :)

Well if you go for the i7 you can just upgrade the GPU in the future.

But if you go for the i5, you can still upgrade the GPU but you will have to replace the cpu sooner. This may cause you to buy a new mobo, new cooler and the new cpu.
If I were you I would go for an i5 with 570 because it does benfit gaming more than my i7 spec but I prefer to do more future proof specs. I would still go for the 8GB RAM though, my old PC had 4GB of RAM and I was left with 2.8GB because of windows and stuff.

i5 is nearly the same as an i7 and in gaming there is no difference, the only benefit to the i7 is hyperthreading which is useless when gaming, and of course the slightly higher clock speed but you could overclock to that without any problems such as heat
