How clean do you keep your desktop

How does everyone keep their desktop?

I prefer mine with NO icons at all no widgets nothing, basically just a RIGHTEOUS wallpaper so it looks like a picture frame when its not in use.

My dad on the other hand is using a 400 x 300 on a 1080 display with icons that looks like WinZip had a sneezing fit.

As little amount of icons as possible. 2 rows of icons max. If it gets any more i start looking at stuff to uninstall, usually games im not playing.
On top of that i hate people that save documents etc to their desktop. Its something i notice more with people at work. The missus also likes her pc as clutter free as possible, but that was through trial and error. For a while she didnt think twice on installing all sorts of bloatware with related icons on her desktop. Then her pc just wouldnt work, so since then she has been a minimalistic freak, but for some reason she equates how many icons she has on her desktop, to how fast her pc is running. I just leave her to it. :turned:

I've got no icons and just don't start putting icons on. The only thing on my desktop besides my wallpaper is a desktop.

Edit: I think that was a Freudian slip, I mean the recycle bin. The only thing on my desktop besides my wallpaper is a recycle bin.

I just have my 10 most frequently used icons in a little triangle in the top left corner, the rest is empty, apart from my calendar in the centre. :)

Edit: Darn, I just noticed I have two in the top right corner too...

Wow who knew people actually organised their desktop....

I use that as a measure of when I need a windows reinstallation, once they get past about half way I pop the DVD into the drive :)

For quick hidden access to recycle bin. Open computer/docs whatever, right click on left panel > show all folders. Recycle bin should appear. Then do the same again to change it back.

I only have recycle bin and computer on my desktop anyway. I rarely see it anyway, always got 10 different windows up.

I used to have a few but ever since the taskbar came out with Windows 7 I just have the recycle bin and the drives and that's it. A nice clean layout with the wallpaper. :)

Use my PC mainly for a few games, so only have the recycle bin on the main display, with a pop up taskbar at the bottom for main programs/games/storage folder. Every so often after checking out a few new games or having temporary program installs my desktop gets messy again, which takes me a couple of weeks to be bothered to clean it back up (similar to my bedroom I suppose).

Yes, it's north-east Crete. Just down the road from the marina here. The hotel is the Istron Bay Hotel if you fancy it... :)

I fancy a trip to Crete, I've never been to the Greek islands, although I did live in Loutraki (about an hour north of Athens) for a year.

Unfortunately, no holiday this year as I'm skint. If I make it out there one day we'll have an ouzo and a lamb souvlakia together if you're in the area. Happy sailing :)
