Sure thing. If you can copy and paste the full specs as outlined above?
Nope. I'm running Debian (GNU/Linux). ;-)
- Windows Updates
The only firmware you need to be concerned about is:Nope. I'm running Debian (GNU/Linux). ;-)
There's no issue, I'm just wondering if there's any firmware that would be advisable to upgrade. I was thinking that PCSpecialist might provide the files. What OS is it running?
What specifically do you think needs a driver/firmware update? Is there a specific problem you're seeing with a specific component that an update might resolve?
To start...
However, I hope you now have more storage as the 128GB listed will probably be tight for even basic uses.
- Windows Updates - check that these are all up to date (along with any optional driver update listed)
- GIGABYTE GA-A320M-S2H - go to the Gigabyte website and download the latest version of the motherboard software
- AMD Ryzen 7 3800X - go to AMD website and download the latest version of the appropriate chipset package
- AMD RADEON™ RX 550 (2GB) - go to AMD website and download the latest version of the Adrenaline GPU software
- AX200 Wi-Fi - probably updated via Windows Update - but also available via Intel's download page
All seem to be for MS Windows only. 🤔

Ok, but I'm not sure exactly where to get the firmware file(s) from.Any drivers etc will be windows only, firmware is OS independent, it's not related to software
Have you looked at the above links?Ok, but I'm not sure exactly where to get the firmware file(s) from.
Hi ST. Sorry for the late reply, I've been v. busy. Yes, I looked but saw not option for Linux. 🤔Have you looked at the above links?
As already said, firmware is OS independent, has no relation to what OS you're using. I think you're looking at drivers rather than firmware, or are you looking for drivers? Linux doesn't work like Windows, drivers are generally baked into the kernel, but assuming you know how to manage Linux if you're using it?Hi ST. Sorry for the late reply, I've been v. busy. Ok. It seems BIOS is the only thing I need. I looked further. My BIOS version is F54d. I noticed more updated ones here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-A320M-S2H-rev-1x/support#support-dl-bios - F56b being the newest. As already said, firmware is OS independent, has no relation to what OS you're using. Would I need to update each one or can I jump from version F54d to F56b?
Edit: It looks like I'm out of luck. The .zip files contains a Efiflash.exe. I don't see how I can update from Linux. :-(
Hi SpyderTracks. I'll play it safe for now. Cheers. 👋The exe is just the windows program to install it, it's has no relation to linux.
On linux you'd have to flash it via the mobo outside of OS as Linux doesn't support OS flashing
On Gigabyte boards that's called QFlash, there are directions in the manual
The BIOS file is the A320MS2H.56b file, that's all you need to flash.
But you need PCS permission to flash a BIOS otherwise it voids warranty. And BIOS doesn't need to be updated unless there's a specific feature you require that he update has, otherwise it's not going to be of any benefit.
If you're system is working fine, then don't update the BIOS, there's no need to and any BIOS flash comes with the risk of bricking the board so should only be done when absolutely necessary.
