How do I insert a CD/DVD into a Tornado R7 desktop gaming PC?

Hi guys

Does anyone know how to insert a CD or a DVD into a Tornado R7 PCSpecialist gaming PC without taking it apart as I'm currently looking around the tower at the moment and I cannot see any slots to put a CD in like a regular desktop computer . No videos shown on YouTube on how to do this.

It doesn’t have a built in dvd drive, pretty much no modern computer does.

You’d have to buy an external dvd drive to play discs.

It's actually quite uncommon now to get DVD drives in PCs, especially gaming ones. Some business PCs might be more likely to have them but for gaming, nearly all new games are 100% downloads, and where there are games solid with physical media, large patches always need to be applied on (sometimes before!) release day. So installing off the discs is almost pointless anyhow.

If you're trying to rip a music CD, for instance, you'll need a DVD drive.

But if you're trying to do something else like reinstall Windows, drivers, or something else, you may be better off downloading a more recent version from MS / the hardware manufacturer's website. Windows will install faster run off a USB pen than a DVD anyway.

Even for home media, it's increasingly common for people to have their music and movie collections digitised.

Did you buy one with an optical drive? If not then that's why you can't find it as you don't have one. As others have said a USB optical drive is the answer.

If you google the PC model, you can see it has a Corsair Spec 04 case with no DVD drive or 5.25" bays

You don’t, you download anything you need like drivers and software.

The PC will already have drivers. As above you download anything else you need.

If you ever do a clean installation of Windows, the modern method is to do this off a USB stick - which is also much faster than using a DVD. Microsoft let you make your own Windows installation USB sticks: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

So for basic PC maintenance / installation stuff, DVD drives are a thing of the past.

If you want to watch a DVD, you can get external drives that connect via USB.
