How do I put a laptop through its paces?

New laptop is ordered and I cannot wait. First thing I want to do is benchmark the lot of it and make sure everything is running as it should be. What would you suggest I do to make sure it's all tip top?

Things of note from browsing around....

Dead pixles - Not sure of the best way to check but it should be pretty straight forward I guess?
Screen bleeding - Simple enough with a black fullscreen?
G-Sync - No idea, no experience with this. I'm guessing if it's functional I'll have the option in the Nvidia control panel?
CPU - Initially CPU-z Benchmark & stress test followed by Prime95 for a thorough test with Coretemp to monitor how it's going.
GPU - 3dMarks? I've previously ran 11, never ran any other one. What's recommended?

Can't wait to have a play. I'll be running as many checks as I can then wiping for a clean install of Windows 7 for a play to see how I get on

You could also try a free version (works as well ass the full one for what you want) of AIDA64.

Google and download it then run the torture test. It should max out CPU (and maybe GPU? I can't really remember) usage and if you leave it like that for about 30 mins, it should be stable. Leave it for as long as your risk allowance allows you to
