How to reset to factory settings without original CD (Vortex III)?

I have a 2 year old Vortex III which I want to restore to factory settings, but I don't have to OS disc and it says it's required for the reset. How do I go ahead with the reset anyway (I'll install the OS at a later date)?

I don't think you can without the OS disc, what do you mean installing the OS at a later date? Wouldn't you need the OS installed when you reset it?

No, because I'm going away for a month or so and won't need my laptop. I just want to have it reset and ready to go. Is there no way to reset the laptop to factory settings without installing the OS?
