I dont know whats wrong :S

So i went into my computer properties to try and see what my system rating was... and I get a message when i do the test that says 'Cannot Complete assessment. The assessment or other operation did not complete sucessfully. This is due to an error being reported from the operating system,driver, or other component.'

Was it connected to the charger? It needs to be charging to work

Yes it was on the charger

Also if i look at my device manager my Display adapter which is an NVIDA Geforce GT 540M has a kind of alert triangle on it

You need to reinstall or update the driver.

First uninstall the driver,in device manager right click device/uninstall,
if you have a driver disk you could try that,
or you can search for updates or run "Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products" from here,

This will offer any driver updates available.

That doesnt even work if i go to Device manager i get the message on my display driver 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)'

If you mean you cant uninstall it from device manager try uninstalling from programs and features/uninstall or change a program,
you could then use a program like driversweeper if you want, to clean any traces left.
I believe the latest Nvidia driver update software gives you the option to uninstall the existing driver,but I'm not sure this will work if the driver files are corrupt.

You may need a specific driver or it could be a hardware problem,

rang them up and they said i best return it and get it fixed /sigh hopefully it will be back with me soon. They said that it was probably corrupted.
