i5 2500 or i7 2600

What is the difference between the i5 2500 and i7 2600 ? ofc price is different but what about for a gaming rig...what is the difference in performance of the two and by what margin.

The i5 isn't going to hurt too much if you cant quite afford to go with the i7.

Im not sure on exactly how much quicker the i7 would for gaming, but as the GPU does most of the graft i would spend the extra on that.

If you post up a budget im sure someone will draw you up a spec in no time.
