In Building / Built Status

Greetings!

I'm a first time buyer at PCS and everything so far has went very fast and smooth, so far :sweatdrop:

I have a question regarding the status of my order and just checking if anyone would have a answer before I take up a member of staff's time on a live chat.

Anyway to the point, I ordered my computer on finance on 14-05-2012 and it was approved and I sent the documents as required and it was processed on 18-05-2012 (Friday), I received an e-mail telling me my computer has been built on 21-05-2012 (Monday), I went online to check my order status and it shows as "In Building" and shows the staff member who it was "Built By".

I'm abit confused since the e-mail and 'built by' information suggests it's been built, but the 'in building' status makes it appear like it may still be being built.

Just worried it maybe held back due to the shortage of NZXT Fan Controllers in stock.

Also my computer seems to have totally skipped the 'pre-production' phase :whistling:

Occasionally orders can skip the pre-production phase if they are built earlier for any reason. You are lucky to have skipped this stage if you did not buy a fast-track service!

"In Building" is more of a reference to the department/stage of your order in our production line. If it has been assembled but if missing a part, it will stay here until the part arrives, after which it will progress to the testing status.

Thanks for the super fast reply, I guess that means it could be held back till the fan controller arrives, checked the order page and no notes have been added to it about missing parts, last I heard a new batch doesn't arrive till june

Checked with live chat anyway and they said it isn't awaiting any items on the order, guess it's just awaiting testing and quality checks like the e-mail says.
I didn't select fast track either, so great push out time for a desktop computer on standard build time.

mine was ordered on the 3/5/12and i was told today that fan controller was not in stock for me so i had to change order again or wait even longer and you been told you got yours. not a big issue but thought mine would have been put to one side before they ran out of stock to be honest as i had paid for the item. and im in building stage as well

I'm sorry to hear that leea12345.

I noticed some other threads saying about the stock being out and that's why I had to double checked with live chat to make sure it had been completed with all parts installed, they confirmed twice.
But my computer is still as "In Building" and has not been processed to testing today, which makes me have doubts about it, but it could just be they have a large cue on the testing part and it'll take sometime.

Since I've got it for a Saturday delivery, I was hoping for testing and Quality check to be finished by Friday, I'll hope and pray

Edit: Silly me I did check all the status details twice on the account order page, but I guess it just slipped my mind, "in building" does mean the components for the computer are complete and awaiting testing.
