Hello. Can I do this? Will this void my warranty? I have Optimus 4 with ddr3 1600mhz samsung ram. But it's 1x4 gb and i want 2x4gb. So i'm planning to buy another identical stick.

No,it wont void warranty,PCS allow you to add or reseat components etc,as long as you don't damage anything in the process, you wont do that installing RAM in a laptop.

You could use the upgrade service from PCS to order the additional memory.

I'm a student and i'm on a budget ;D Spending money on shipment is not that cool. it would cost 26pounds in total to get the ram. Would I get it cheaper somewhere else?

Personally I would give PCS a call and ask if they can supply the the RAM you require,(the upgrade service doesn't give me the option of upgrading RAM) If not I would try "crucial" or "mr memory",they will scan your computer and tell you the exact RAM you require

Pop off the back cover and google the exact model number on your existing RAM stick.

Alternatively use the HWInfo program to give you the same information.

Pro tip - don't dance on a nylon carpet while wearing catskin slippers immediately before installing the new stick(s).

For best performance and avoiding bottlenecks/conflicts, do get exactly same spec on your second stick. For the amount you save vs time searching round for a bargain, worth sticking with u/g service I reckon.
