Bought a most excellent quad core, 24Gb RAM 4TB HD system from PCSpecialist, and most excellent it is too.
Running Windows 7 64bit.
I configured the RAID as two lots of RAID1 volumes - and it kept dropping disks from the volumes. I figured it was because I hadn't got enterprise spec disks...so after living with random almost daily dropouts I replaced the original disks with enterprise spec disks...and I still got almost daily dropouts.
After a fair amount of research, it turns out that the last issue of Intel Matrix Storage Manager has bugs in the drivers - and looking for an update fails - because they changed the name.
Update to Intel Rapid Storage Technology - and all is well - 14days so far with no drop outs, which given the almost daily dropouts (and sometimes more than one a day) I figure it is sorted. The update went smoothly, just downloaded it and run it - it sorted all the drivers etc out for me.
Thought that this might be useful to someone out there.
