I have recently ordered a new Vortex III (which I intend to use predominantly for gaming) and I initially chose the Killer 1102, however because of stock limitations I switched to the Intel 6300 in hope of speeding up the production process.

I’ve looked all over the web and there are various opinions on these two network cards… and the results were mixed…

Many people say that Killer card completely out-performs the Intel.

Others say that it doesn’t matter which you put in your machine, they are both so good that the Killer’s slight advantages are irrelevant.

And a select few say that the killer card is just a lot of hype and it’s not worth bothering with…

So I thought I’d post the question here, after all I’m assuming that there are many of you on here who will have tried a laptop equipped with each card…

Is there a decisive winner between these two network cards? Or in your personal opinion do you feel that one out-performs the other?

I go for reliability and stability over performance, every time. Intel have been producing wireless gear for a very long time and they build it good.

Killer network cards have been around a relatively short while and they *appear* to be the kind of product that appeals to the same sort of consumer that laps up systems with 16GB of 2000MHz RAM.

i.e., people who don't really know an awful lot about what it is they are buying and what real-world performance they are talking about when trying to decide between different components.

I'm not saying they aren't good, but I do doubt the real value in the cost / performance ratio.
