Hi all,
There have been several threads about the Edimax wireless router not working and its driving me up the wall now, its being so temperamental and I'm not sure how to check why. To confuse things I've stuck an old PCI card in from time to time, which suffers the same issues.
The net is either perfect(ish) or won't connect at all. For the last week it has been fairly flawless (if not a little slow with video downloads & needed to wait a while before connecting or having to re-start the router). I download Left 4 Dead 2 (10gig) no problem and have been playing that and CS: Source lag free.
Until 2 days ago it went down completely and it hasn't connected since. I removed the drivers, re-added from the CD, removed, re-added ones I'd downloaded from the website previously as recommended on here (8191_8192_SE_WindowsDriver_2017.2.0730.2010) and nothing.
For some unknown reason it has now decided to connect, except its being incredibly slow. Where can I begin with trying to work out why? Router has been re-started a million times & its located in the same place as my old PC which had no issues, I can't do wired from here.
Should the card show in device manager? It never has.. sorry to ramble, hopefully makes sense.
f*ck sake, its gone down before I hit post, **waits**
Below are two screens from when it wasn't working with the Edimax software, which is now removed.
