Just got my beast. Missing HDMI?

with the monitor I was expecting a HDMI cable with it and can't find it, can't connect the machine to the screen?
{IIYAMA E2271HDS 22" LED WIDESCREEN, HDMI/DVI-D HD 1920x1080}

I am pretty sure that the Ilyama monitors only come with a DVI cable so if you want a HDMI you need to purchase that extra, are you using seperate speakers ?

No I'm not using separate speakers.

In that case to get the sound you either need to purchase a HDMI cable or is there a 3.5mm jack cable with your monitor (i know some monitors come with these) if there is you can use that.

Every time I try and connect the screen and the monitor there's no signal. (DVI cable)

silly Q but did you plug it in to your card not the motherboard?

Does your monitor have an input select if so maybe the monitor is looking for a VGA/HDMI input.

I've selected the input etc, I'm sure it's connected to the motherboard. (The DVI cable)

Have you got a dedicated GPU if so the motherboard output will be disconnected and you have to use the ports on the GPU.

Just swapped the cables around now and the screen bursts to life. I thank you kind sir.
