I'd say this is sub-optimal. I can't really see a good reason to choose the i7-11700K over an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. Plus if you really want a i7-11700K, you should have a far better AIO cooler than the one you've chosen. I'd also consider upping the PSU to 850W. In storage terms if you go AMD, you could go for a faster M2 NVMe PCIe4 SSD.

What is your budget and exactly what monitor are you are pairing the PC with (i.e. is it 4K 60hz or 4K 144Hz etc)?

I'd say my budget is around £2.500 for the desktop. Planning and getting a 27" asus rog 4k @144hz.

This will be my first gaming computer so I only have basic knowledge on what to get.

If I should change anything I would rather do it now while it is still in production , so would I be better of with amd ssd ? And ryzen 7

You’d have to call PCS with a saved quote on an AMD build and ask if they can switch over to that. And if they can’t do that, cancel the whole order and start again. If you’re looking for a 4K 144Hz build, this would be a solid effort.

I’d avoid that monitor you’ve got your eye on, though. 27 inch is a bit small for 4K, you’ll probably have a nightmare trying to read smaller text on screen.

I was looking at the Samsung g70a but can't find stock anywhere and also the LG27".

Is the ryzen 7 that important , is there anything I could tweet on my current build ?

It’s a functional platform, it’s just that AMD are way ahead of Intel right now and we ultimately want you to get the best possible system for your money. As @DarTon said, an upgrade on the PSU and cooler are probably a good idea if you stick with it.

The thread linked by @Bigfoot will give you some insight as to why we gently nudge people away from choosing Intel.

Damn I wish I would of read that article before, all websites say Intel cpu.
I don't want to have to cancel my order with PCS and start again so I might make a AMD one tonight and see if they can swap it tomorrow when I ring.

Also a big factor for me is I want to load many leagues on the database on football manager with it still running quite quick, what would be the best to make that happen on my new configuration.

5900x would be the best, but would increase budget quite significantly.

PCS doesn't have option to pick the AMD 5900x right now. If I upgraded the PSU and the cooler and stuck with the i7 for now would I be able to swap to a amd CPU in a few years time ?

No, the motherboards have different sockets so will only support one brand of processor.

Oh no sorry they do didn't realise that was the amd 9, that would take me over budget quite abit. Would the best amd 7 be a huge upgrade over the i7 u have, for around £200 more I could get better SSD and the amd 7
