For days I've been messing around with the configurator. The main decision I had to make was the CPU. Despite the negative reviews I've opted for AMD's Bulldozer. Other decisions I took were ditching the wireless card, i'll go wired or home plugs, going with Windows 7 and opting for a performance graphics card. The PCS forum and its contributors have been truly helpful in reaching these decisions. Thanks all!

what's the pc for mate?

There's a few suggestions I would like to suggest depending on your uses.
1.Do you really need 16gb ram? I have 8 gig and its plenty for my uses, (gaming, uni work) Ofcourse if you do alot of ram intensive tasks it would be beneficial.
2. I'd go for a 650w corsair, they are very reliable and and energy efficient, exactly what you want in a power supply.
3. Personally i'd go for a bigger case if you feel you need the titan cpu cooler. The titan is a excellent air cooler, (one of the best) but it is rather large, So i'd suggest you look at a bigger mid tower case such as the cm690 II, maybe also depending on your uses lower the cpu cooler to the triple copper cooler, (if its available)

Thanks for the advice.
This PC will be used for: streaming movies, playing blurays, photo editing, video editing, social media, working from home, TV, music & playing music, DTP, maybe light gaming. There will be lots of stuff open at the same time. I jump back and forth a lot, messy working habits...I can't help it.

I prefer the smaller case. The PC will be in my living room and I'd prefer not to have a huge case. I thought I'd go for titan cooler because I'll have the pc on and in use for hours at a time. The cooling has to quiet too. Hopefully the titan is meeting these requirements. What problems do you reckon I might have housing this stuff in a smaller case?

I took the 600W power supply at the configurators suggestion. Do you think it's not enough?

Cheers.

In that case I'd stick with the 16gb ram.

The titan is a very good cooler, may be worth sticking with it due to your uses. But the amd triple copper cooler will still give you good enough cooling at a good price. What I would do though if get a few quiet 120mm fans, just to make sure your getting plenty of airflow to the components and cpu cooler.

The corsair psu's are reliable and energy efficient. if ya pc is on alot would be a good investment.

If I change the case to the Coolermaster Sileo Super Quiet and power supply to Corsair 650W will that do it?

yeah go for the 650w corsair.

The coolermaster sileo super quiet case is gonna be really quiet but not very good for cooling (in my opinion) If I was to buy a case I'd look for the the t900 and upwards. If you go for the t900 drop the cpu cooler to the triple copper cooler as the titan is huge and may result in the side fan being removed. the triple copper is still going to give you good enough cooling.

I've looked at a few case reviews of those available from PCS. To be honest i had no idea how much a good case matters!
I've upgraded the case to Corsair's Carbide 400R, had to drop the memory card reader but that's not a big deal. Changed the power supply to the Corsair 650W too.
Much appreciated Tom:)

good choice of case.

Corsair cases are great for builders, offers very good cooling and cable management. :)
